Is there a limit to the number of albums that I can create and share online?
Yes. WWW Photo Album has such a limit. The number is 100000.

Is it possible to modify/edit a created album?
At present this software can not modify/edit the created album. But you can use any html file editor (FrontPage, Dreamwaver, etc.) to edit it. You can find the location of the album on the main screen of WWW Photo Album.

Is there a suggested/recommended limit to the size and number of pics that I should have in each album?
Suggested limit:
Size: 20k - 150K/per page.
Number of pics: 12 - 20 pics/per page.

When I press a album onto a CD/DVD-ROM -- exactly WHICH files/folder do I need to copy/burn onto the CD/DVD?
You can find the location of the album on the main screen of WWW Photo Album. Just burn corresponding directory to the CD/DVD-ROM. To display the album, please double-click the file 'index.htm' in that directory. Any platforms (Mac OS/Windows/etc.) that support html file should be able to open the html file and display the album.

When a IP address is created -- where/whose server is the access to my online images going through -- yours or someone else's?
It's your private IP address, we do not know it. Only the one who get your IP address can access it. You can use email, phone, ICQ, MSN messager, etc. to tell your IP address to anyone that you want share your album.

What kind of browser does WWW Photo Album support?
It supports IE, Netscape, Opera, etc. It also supports most download software, such as NetAnts, FlashGet, Download Accelerator, etc.

Do I need to install IIS or Apache first?
No, WWW Photo Album can run individually and you needn't install any HTTP server (IIS/Apache/Pws/Tomcat/etc) on your computer.

What does the error message 'Please input a valid port...' mean?
Any port number from 1 to 65535 could be valid. But it seems that another program is running on port 80 on your computer. So WWW Photo Album can not use that port and you must choose another port number. Such as 81, 90, 2000, 3045, etc. Please change the port number on the main window of WWW Photo Album and click the 'Share now' button to try again.

Why my friends can not see the webpage through internet?
Please check if there is any firewall software on your computer. Outside requests may be blocked by your firewall. If you find a firewall on your computer, please config the firewall to open the port for WWW Photo Album or allow WWW Photo Album to respond outside requests. Then please make sure that other computers can access your computer directly.
file share
Suppose those computers all installed WWW Photo Album, then
1) Computer 1, 2, 3 can access computer 4
2) Computer 1, 2, 3 can access each other
3) Computer 4 can only access computer 2, it can not access computer 1 and 3 directly.

So if you installed WWW Photo Album on computer 1 or 3, your friends from computer 4 can not access your website.

Then please ask your friends to ping the IP address of your computer. Please ask them to open a ms-dos command window. Then type 'ping YourIP' and then press the 'enter' key. For example,

If they can only see 'Request timed out', it means that they can not access your computer directly at all. There could be firewall software on your computer, which blocks all outside requests. Or your computer doesn't connect to the internet directly.

For Windows XP user:
There is an Internet connection firewall on the Windows XP system. By default it is disabled. But it may be enabled so outside requests may be blocked by the firewall. To config the Internet connection firewall of Windows XP, please follow these steps:
1) Open Network Connections (Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network Connections.)
2) Click the Dial-up, LAN or High-Speed Internet connection, and then, under Network Tasks, click Change settings of this connection.
3) On the 'Advanced' tab, click the 'Settings...' button.

4) Click the 'Add...' button to add a service for WWW Photo Album.

5) Input your IP address and the port number that WWW Photo Album uses, then click the 'OK' button to save your settings. This will open the port for WWW Photo Album and allow WWW Photo Album to respond outside requests.

Then please try again.

How to get ZoneAlarm to work with WWW Photo Album?
You must give server permission to WWW Photo Album in the Programs List of ZoneAlarm. Please follow these steps:
1. Run ZoneAlarm. Go to the Program Control panel.
2. Go to the Programs tab in the Program Control panel.
3. Click the Add button to browser and select "WPA.exe".
4. Click the permission symbol you want to change, then select Allow from the shortcut menu. Allow all for WWW Photo Album.

What is dynamic IP address? Can I use a domain name to instead of the dynamic IP address?
When you dial-up to Internet, or otherwise, usually you will get a dynamic IP address from ISP. It means that each time you connect to your Internet Service Provider your computer usually gets assigned a different IP address. Actually you can use a domain name to instead of your IP address. There is some software that can associate a domain name to your dynamic IP address. Such as DNS2Go, No-IP DUC.

Does WWW Photo Album support resuming downloads?
Yes. It supports resuming downloads.

If WWW Photo Album can be installed behind a router?
Then you must config the router to redirect outside requests to your computer.

Please check if your router support DMZ, Virtual Server or forwarding port.
* Virtual Server:
Allows WWW, FTP and other Internet server services on the LAN to be accessible to Internet users.
A virtual server is defined as a Service Port, and all requests to this port will be redirected to the computer specified by the Server IP.
* DMZ:
The DMZ (DeMilitarized Zone) host feature provides unrestricted 2-way communication between Internet servers and one specified local machine.

If the computer's INTERNAL IP is 192.168.0.2, please config your router to set this address as the DMZ or set a virtual server to port 80 (suppose that you set port 80 for WWW Photo Album) at this address, then people outside can access your files. But you can't tell 192.168.0.2 to your friends directly because it is a LAN IP address. You should tell an internet IP address to your friends so they can access your files on the internet. Is there a version for Unix or Linux?
No, now WWW Photo Album can only run on Windows system.

Must my computer be on-line?
Yes. Otherwise your friends can not connect to your computer and get files from your computer.

Do I have to buy WWW Photo Album?
Yes, WWW Photo Album is a shareware program that means you have a chance to try the software before you buy it. If you plan to continue to use WWW Photo Album please register it.
